…and the Canadian rain!

Well done to all at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for ensuring that the Canadian Grand Prix was completed yesterday.

Whilst time was always on the side of those who wanted the race restarted after it had been halted on lap 23 due to conditions described by some competitors as “undriveable”, there was divided opinion on whether or not the Grand Prix should have continued.

Fortunately it did, though not before a two hour stoppage had passed, and the race proved to be one of the most memorable to have taken place at the famous circuit, topped off by Jenson Button’s overtaking of Championship and race leader Sebastien Vettel during the closing stages of the final lap.

Vettel may still lead the Drivers’ Championship by a huge margin, but if the season can throw up the sort of drama witnessed in Montreal then 2011 may yet see a few more twists and turns before the season’s finale in Brazil.
